Karolyn Kay Howell

Karolyn Kay Howell, 83, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024. Born in Wichita, Kansas, she spent most of her years as a homemaker raising her large family and many more years as a culinary specialist at St. Mary’s Convent. Karolyn was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, crafter, enjoyed country dancing, crocheting, family get-togethers, and her love birds.
She is preceded in death by parents, Caleb and Erma Shelinbarger; brothers, Gerald and Larry; sisters, Cathy and Trudy; and son, Mark. Karolyn is survived by her brothers, Bill, Harold, Randy, and Victor; sister, Janice; children, Jimmy, Cindy, Steve, Tammy, Brenda, and Sue; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren who love and will miss her very dearly, but find comfort knowing she is at peace.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday, July 15, 2024; Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, both at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.

I remember all the good parties she would throw laughing, drinking and cutting up, and let me use her basement when i got married. She was my mom’s best friend along with Marie shelinbarger, I’m going to miss her so much, i loved her like a 2nd mom. I will always reamer the good ole days with her and Ben. May you rest in peace.
