Neil I. Lusk died Friday, July 10th, 2026, at his home in Wichita, Kansas, surrounded by his children. He was 95.

Born on June 18, 1931, in Olivet, Kansas to parents Howard and Emma (Selig) Lusk, Neil was the 4th of 6 children. After graduating from Olivet High in 1949 he briefly attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia before marrying his high school sweetheart, Doris Shirley, in 1951. Together, they raised 5 children, and their family grew to include 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Neil completed his education at Wichita State University, was a dedicated employee at Boeing for 40 years, and a devout member of College Hill United Methodist Church and the Architects Sunday School Class.

Neil was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Doris; his parents; daughter Lisa Donner; daughter-in-law Martha Lusk; brothers Perry, Deane, Keith and Doug Lusk; and sister Esther Biggs.

Mourning his loss are sons, Stephen, David and his wife Pam, Eric and his wife Pennie; daughter, Anita Hunter and her husband James; his grandchildren, great grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members.

Guestbook

  1. I was a good friend of his daughter’s Lisa and Anita. He was one of the kindest men I have ever known. I have not seen him in many years, but he will always hold a warm place in my heart. I am thinking of all of you and sending prayers. What a great man. Your parents were both amazing!

  2. What a wonderful, loving father you were so fortunate to have been raised by. Although I never met your father I know how deeply he was loved and will be missed.
