Nita J. Bugner (62) was a loving wife, mother, nana, sister and friend. She passed away at her home on August 10, 2026, from health complications. She was born October 29th, 1963, in Parsons, Kansas. She was raised in Haysville, Kansas and later moved to Goddard and finally Wichita. She was one of three siblings, Josephine, Nita and Freda. Nita graduated from Campus High School in 1982 where she participated on the debate and forensics team. She then went on to obtain her Associate of Science in Nursing from Kansas Newman College in 1985. Her nursing career spanned over 40 years through various areas. Her true passion was cardiac nursing. Her last position being with Ascension Via Christi St. Francis. In 2000 she met the love of her life, Curtis Bugner. In 2002 they were joined in marriage. To this union he brought one son Mikel. She brought three children: Patrick, Alexandra and Hannah. Curt and Nita were married until his passing in 2021. Nita had many passions and interests. She enjoyed going to estate sales in the fall and planting a few tomato plants in the spring. Her biggest joy was watching her grandsons play football, baseball, soccer and other sports. She looked forward to spending time with her daughters by attending the Women’s Fair, shopping trips and game nights. She looked forward to family visits when Patrick would cook for the family. She took pride in her role as nana to four wonderful grandsons. After Curt’s passing, she got Harley, her mini-Aussie. Harley was her constant companion in the last 3 years, always by her side. She is survived by her children: Patrick (Ashley)Buchanan of Little Rock, AR, Alexandra (AJ) Beasley, Hannah Sisemore and Mikel Bugner all of Wichita. Her grandsons, Roman, Braxton, Hudson and Harrison Beasley; sisters, Jo (Kevin) Plumb of Wellington, Kansas and Freda Harris of Derby, Kansas; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She is preceded in death by her husband Curtis Bugner. Celebration of Life will be at Grace Point Church, 9035 W. Central, Wichita on Tuesday September 1st, 2026, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers a college fund for Nita’s grandsons has been started. Donations can be sent to Alexandra or made to Wichita Federal Credit Union c/o Beasley College Fund.
