Norma Jean Masterson, 90, faithful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at home with her daughter and son by her side on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Norma was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on November 2, 1933, to Francis and Margaret Lustig. On September 1, 1956, she married Michael D. Masterson. She loved her family, friends and serving the Lord. Preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Margaret Lustig; husband, Michael Masterson; sons, Paul Masterson, Stephen Masterson; sister, Peggy; and brother, Ned. Survived by her son, Michael (Cyndee) Masterson of Highlands Ranch, CO; daughter, Meg (Cam) Clark; and daughter-in-law, Pam Masterson of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Maggie (Ian) McClearn, Chris (Taylor) Masterson, Jack (Sydney) Masterson, Daniel Masterson; great-grandchildren, Olivia McClearn, Maverick McClearn, and Mack Masterson. Rosary will be at 9:30 am; Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, Friday, August 16, 2024, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 N. Stratford, Wichita, KS, 67206. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with: The Lord's Diner, 520 N. Broadway St., Wichita, KS 67214. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.

  1. I met Norma and Mike through St. Thomas meals on wheels many years ago. She cared so much about her family, her church and her community. Through much strife, she endured, with a I don’t know calm demeanor and loving personality. Rest in peace sweet Norma. A life well lived!

  2. Loved Norma and such a strong, sweet, beautiful lady she was. She grew such a wonderful family with so many hardships but always trusted Jesus.
