Patsy Barton

Patsy Barton, 98, died June 18, 2026.

Patsy was born in McAlester, Oklahoma to Irene Williams and Gerald Cain, where she lived a charmed and simple upbringing with her sister, Joan. Patsy lived a deep, full and beautiful life where she celebrated all of its twists and turns with her family and a rich circle of friendships. She mentored other women and created a community of love and joy that surrounded her all her days through the generations.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Irene; her sister, Joan Kelly; her niece, Deanna Kelly Riepe; her first husband, Gail Schieffer and their son, Gregory; her second husband, James Dennison and their newborn son, Douglas James; and her third husband, Frank Barton, and their children Steve, Shera and Clay.

She is survived by son, Craig Barton and wife Kathy of Wichita, KS; daughter, Linda Barton Wiens and husband Don of Enid, OK; granddaughter, Lisa Wiens Thompson and husband Zach, and their children Zaryn Barton, Katelyn Mae and Zane Arthur of Andover, KS; nephews, Patrick Kelly of Wichita, Chris Riepe and wife Elizabeth of Chicago, Pete Riepe and wife Kristina of Houston, Tim Riepe and wife Elaine of Houston, and the Riepe children.

She showed us all how to live life with humor, peace, beauty and hope. Her friends and family she loved and championed will remember the many lessons she taught by living fully, and the tips she shared: we will never forget to put on our night cream.

A visitation will be held at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary June 25, 2026, from 6:00-8:00pm.

Patsy nurtured and cared for many people as a mother beyond her family.
