Ralph Dechant

Dechant, Ralph, 77, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at his home in Wichita. Rosary will be 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 29 at Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 30 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Ralph was born March 22, 1929 to Michael and Dora Dechant in Ellis, KS. On September 21, 1953, he married Firma Leiker in Munjor, KS. They lived in Hays until 1963 when the family moved to Liberal. Ralph worked for Guys Foods until his retirement. He also collected and repaired antique clocks. Ralph and Firma moved to Wichita in 1993. He is survived by his wife, Firma, and their children, David and Donna Dechant, Omaha, NE; Liz and Brian McMullen, Liberal, and their children, Nick, Allison, Margaret, and Monica; Elaine and John Garner, Wichita, and their children, Clinton, Jared, Justin, Aaron, Chloe, and Caleb; and Dennis Dechant, Pittsburg, and his children, Dyson and Emily.
