Raymond Drake

Raymond W. Drake, 79, of Wichita, KS, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, with his
family by his side.

Raymond was born on October 29, 1946, in Eureka, KS, he was the son of Earl and Beulah (Dinius) Drake.

In 1969, Raymond married his beloved wife, Kathryn (Jackson), and together they built a life in Wichita filled with love, hard work, and family. Kathryn preceded him in death, and he missed her dearly.

Raymond proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. A proud Army veteran, he carried a strong sense of duty throughout his life. He worked as a skilled welder and found joy in camping, being involved in his sons’ activities from sports to Boy Scouts, and spending time at his in-laws Flint Hills ranch.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathryn; his stepfather, Harry Paulson; and his stepbrother, Louis Paulson.

Survivors include his sons, Ryan Drake of Kansas City, MO, and Troy (Jamie) Drake of Wichita; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Patricia Ray of Oklahoma City.
