Bruggeman, Raymond William, 84, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Via Christi-St. Francis. Rosary, 7 P.M., Wednesday, July 5, 2006; Funeral Mass, 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 6, 2006, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 961 N. Socora in Wichita. Raymond was born January 10, 1922 in Decatur County, Kansas. He served in the 82nd Airborne during World War II and in 1947 graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He retired in 1984 as Director of Engineering for the City of Wichita after 38 years of public service in the State of Kansas. Preceded in death by parents, Henry and Anna (Stegeman) Bruggeman; brothers, John and Lawrence; sisters, Sister Demetria, Sister Dolorita, Sister Bernadette, and Marge Geraghty. Survivors: wife, Catherine “Katie”; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Kathy of Scottsdale, AZ, Doug and Mary Ann of Sedgwick, David and Kit of Wichita, Greg of Andover; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Paul Duncan of Wichita, Cathy and Kim LaCount of Harper; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
