Robert "Bob" V. Christian III, 75, died June 3, 2024 from complications of a stroke.Bob was born March 28, 1949 in Wichita, Kansas to Dr. Robert V. Christian Jr. and Mary Elizabeth "Betty" (Morton) Christian. He grew up in Wichita and graduated from Wichita Heights in 1966. Bob began college at Wichita State University and shortly after was drafted to serve in the Vietnam War in 1969. Bob earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and an Army Commendation Medal. He returned to WSU and received his degree in Psychology in 1972.Bob went to work in construction, running heavy equipment working on many bridges and overpasses that we enjoy today around Wichita. He moved to Houston, Texas and eventually to Northwest Oklahoma where he would end up owning/operating his own business doing dirt work, building and cleaning ponds.Bob was a skilled mechanic, lover of dogs, incredibly articulate and could talk on many subjects for hours, always being right of course. He enjoyed drag racing and working on cars when he was young, and also fishing trips to Canada and Colorado. He loved classic rock and the typical 70's adventures.Bob will be missed by his daughter, Rachel (Jay) Wilson; grandchildren, his namesake Robert “Robby,” John Wilson; sisters, Ann Christian-Dold, Karen (Miguel) Christian-Munoz; brother, John Christian; and many nieces and nephews.Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Betty; nephew, William Joel Christian Dold; brother-in-law, Mark Dold; and many friends and beloved good dogs."Its 2 AM, the fear is gone and there he goes stepping into the twilight zone."Private Services to be held.A memorial has been established with Wichita Animal Action League (WAAL), P.O.
