Shirley Maxine (Meyer) Cotton

Shirley Maxine (Meyer) Cotton, 88, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026. She was born on September 5, 1937, in Haven, Kansas and spent most of her childhood in Andale, Kansas. Shirley graduated from Andale High School and went right to work. She was always a hard worker and loved her family. Being a devout catholic, she raised her boys in the church and catholic schools. Shirley worked at Walmart for many years before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and other family members. Shirley and her husband loved traveling and took many short trips together. Fall was one of her favorite times of the year because she liked going to all the fall bazaars in Wichita.

Shirley is preceded in death by parents, Reynold and Helen (Matzek) Meyer; brother, Everett Meyer; and husband, Sidney Cotton. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Schultz, Chandler Schultz, Todd (Belvia) Schultz all of Wichita, KS; sisters, Carol Strunk of St. Marks, KS, Suzie Kraus of Colwich, KS, Linda Maxwell of Park City, KS; sister-in-law, Kathleen Meyer of Andale, KS; grandchildren, Deanna, Kerry, Ryan, Clayton, Aubry, Teresa, Taylor, Zach; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Graveside Service will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
