Pendergrass, Sylvia “Louise”, 73, retired owner of Primitives Plus Antiques, died Thursday, June 9, 2005. Visitation 6:00 ~ 8:00 P.M., Monday, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Service 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, Poplar Avenue Church of Christ. Survivors: husband, Eli; children and spouses, Sylvia and Tom Lawson of Wichita and Teddy and Teresa Pendergrass of Towanda; brothers, Carl Osborn of Dora, MO, Claudie Osborn of Willow Springs, MO and Dale Osborn of Kechi, KS; grandchildren, Shannon and Scott Antone, Daniel and Ashley Pendergrass, Hailey and Randy Martin; great-grandson, Matthew Antone. A memorial has been established with the Arthritis Foundation, 1602 E. Waterman, Wichita, KS, 67211.

I helped Ted, ‘Louise’s son’, hook up some phone jacks for her and she cooked pork chops for us. She used bacon grease to fry the pork chops. That was the best pork chop I ever had. Wow could she cook. I also recall how sweet and loving she was, despite the pain of arthritis that she lived with. Our thoughts a prays are with this family.
