Thelma “Terri” Napper, 90, died September 6, 2026

Celebrating the life of Thelma L. Napper, a remarkable woman known for her loving nature, strong will, intelligence, and unwavering competitive spirit. Born on December 9, 1935, in Harrisburg, IL. Thelma’s dynamic character and tireless energy defined her incredible journey through life.

Thelma pursued education with a fervor that matched her personality, attaining a high school diploma from McKinley High School followed by studies at Harris Teachers College. Her academic pursuits laid the groundwork for a successful career in commercial real estate, where her tenacity and intellect made her a respected figure in the industry.

A non-denominational believer, Thelma embraced a life filled with joyous activities. She was an avid reader and a competitive tennis player, known for her grace both on the court and in her personal dealings. Thelma cherished gatherings with friends and family at the lake and found peace and excitement in boating adventures.

Thelma was also celebrated for her elegant style and her embodiment of the ‘Show Me State’ spirit, always demanding proof in loving jest. She fiercely protected her family, guiding them with strength and wisdom. She was married for 50 years, a testament to her commitment and love.

Left to honor Thelma’s legacy are her daughters, Shelley and her spouse Brick, Laura and her son, Richard along with his spouse Amara. Her grandchildren, Brandon Scheer and spouse Mahsa, Casey Scheer, Zak Napper, Anise Napper; great grandchildren, Shyla Scheer, and Melina Scheer, will miss her deeply. She also leaves behind her nephew, Jay Rushing, and his spouse Tracy.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ruth Duke her devoted spouse, Richard Napper; two brothers, William Rushing and Thomas Duke JR; a sister-in-law, and her parents-in-law.

Thelma L. Napper’s memory will be cherished as a beacon of love, resilience, and style. Her life was a portrait of passion and perseverance, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she touched. Thelma’s absence will be profoundly felt, but her spirit will continue to inspire all those she loved and who loved her in return.

Graveside service will be Friday, September 11, 2026, at 2:00pm at the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Affton, MO.
