Wayne Edward Rogers, 78, Retired Tool and Dye Engineer, died Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Monday, October 7, 2024, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Northside Church of Christ. Preceded in death by his father, Charles Rogers; mother, Odell (Dick) Hudson; wife, Sherla Rogers; brother, Jerry Lee Rogers; father-in-law, Claude Engelke. Survived by his son, Matthew "Matt" Rogers; daughter, Andrea (Jeff) Walters; grandchildren, Kourtney Rogers, Mattie and Harper Walters; brother, Bill (Kim) Rogers; mother-in-law, Elsie Engelke; brother-in-law, Dick Spillane and other extended family. A memorial has been established with: Northside Church of Christ Youth Group, 4545 N. Meridian Ave., Wichita, KS 67204.

Wayne was a wonderful friend and brother in Christ. He now rests in the arms of Angels, for which I am so thankful!
Wayne always had a hug for me. He would ask how I was doing and mean it sincerely. His kindness will be remembered. Glad this is not goodbye, but see ya later. He is now in his forever home with the Lord.
Wayne was my brother-in-law for 55 years and was cherished as a friend . His love and care for my sister and his children was unparalleled. I shall miss his warmth and character! God rest to you my friend!
Wayne was a great guy to work with and we had lots of good times. So sorry we can’t be at the funeral as we are on the New England states.

Wayne was a huge positive influence on my life. From working together to sharing our love for soccer. Sharing our kids stories. He brought out the best in me and I will always and forever be grateful. Rest in peace my dear friend.
