William “Zach” Zachary Perez, 25, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Monday, July 27, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas.
Zachary was born on March 26th, 2001. From an early age, Zach marched to the beat of his own drum. One of six kids, he learned dependability, patience, and how to put family first. He was a talented basketball player who loved the game, but some of his favorite moments were simply spent outside playing and laughing with his siblings. After graduating from Eisenhower High School, he worked at Waste Connections in the truck shop. His strong work ethic and dependable nature made him a valued member of his team and earned him the respect of those he worked alongside.
To know Zach was to laugh. Blessed with a quick wit, he was easily the funniest guy in the room. He could find something funny in any situation and knew just what to say to make everyone laugh. Beneath his sense of humor, he was a loyal son, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed playing with his nephew and niece on Sunday nights, turning cushions into forts and running around with them outside. He had a deep appreciation for storytelling and could spend hours analyzing movies, always noticing what others missed. Music and gaming were also a big part of his life, bringing him happiness, comfort, and feeding his competitive spirit.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ethan Robert Perez and grandparents LeeRoy Jansen, Sharon Perez, and Richard Perez.
Zach is survived by his loving parents, Mark and Andrea Perez; his older sisters, Jessica (Jeffrey) Peirce and Christian (Travis) Shepherd; his younger siblings, Isabella Perez and Luke Perez; niece Armour; and nephews, Leo and Graham Shepherd; and grandmother, Patricia Jansen.
